performance magnitude ft. sql java xml

This page is NOT a benchmark but the performance feeling that I experienced working with those 3 technologies.

While processing data 

SQL runs 100+ faster than JAVA which runs 100+ faster than XML


Is this impression true?
Do you have some magnitude order?

Do feed-back your impressions and results!

    The idea is that you put your objects into MVEL context. Then you provide string query written according to MVEL simple notation, and finally evaluate expression.
